Grain Automate Extension Program 27-28

The Grains Research and Development Corporation is calling for a delivery partner to design, coordinate and implement the next phase of the Grain Automate Extension Program for 2027–2028. The program builds on earlier Hub activities to expand national reach, strengthen regional delivery and create new learning pathways that enable grain growers to adopt automation, autonomy and related digital farming systems. The awardee will be responsible for planning and executing at least 15 major events and additional targeted sessions that align with regional needs while ensuring a cohesive national impact.

The scope of the work includes developing nationally consistent learning materials, delivering tiered workshops and hands‑on demonstrations that cover pre‑adoption, foundational and intermediate capability development, operating onboarding and follow‑up learning pathways, refining grower readiness tools, and embedding rigorous evaluation and reporting. The partner must engage a diverse stakeholder network—including agronomists, consultants, service providers, grower groups, dealers, OEMs and technology partners—and design a co‑contribution model of approximately 50:50 with GRDC to scale impact and secure independent investment. Consortia are encouraged when they strengthen national reach, regional delivery capability, technical depth, stakeholder access or value for money.

All delivery must be aligned to national standards for digital agriculture interoperability, data management and decision support, and include rigorous outcome measurement.

ESTS4000PH6 Facilities to support Hobart Class Destroyer Aegis Combat System Enhancement

The Department of Defence is seeking a contractor experienced in constructing defence‑grade training and accommodation facilities to support the Hobart Class Destroyer Aegis Combat System Enhancement. The procurement involves the delivery of new infrastructure and capital build facilities, including the construction of a new two‑storey extension to the Navy Training Systems Centre at Randwick, NSW, alongside the modification and refurbishment of existing training facilities. The works will also encompass civil and landscaping activities, and include the provision of working accommodation at Defence Plaza Sydney, comprising office fit‑out modifications on a single level to accommodate additional staff.

The project requires that the contractor perform extensive alterations to current buildings and site services infrastructure while ensuring that the existing training facilities, as well as adjacent offices, remain fully operational throughout the construction period. The scope covers the modification of non‑load‑bearing internal partitions, finishes, and service systems, with careful integration into the campus’s operational framework. The tender has a multi‑stage selection process; applicants must demonstrate both the resources and the capacity to deliver these works to the required Defence standards.

The contractor will be evaluated on proven ability to complete the works and on the capacity to manage the activity in compliance with Defence information security obligations. All construction and infrastructure modifications must adhere to the Defence information security standards.

NGN Open Call (2026/27)

The Grains Research and Development Corporation is inviting proposals for short‑term, low‑risk development and extension activities that respond to locally identified issues and priorities raised by farmers. These projects may include extension events, workshops, grower forums, on‑farm trials, demonstration sites and regional programmes that facilitate the adoption of proven knowledge and practical solutions. The submissions must be aligned with the GRDC R&D & E Strategy, demonstrate a clear, measurable impact on growers’ profitability, sustainability and resilience, and be supported by evidence of grower prioritisation.

Proposals must be completed using the RFP template within the Grains Investment Portal, adhere to the specified formatting and page limits, and provide budget details in the GRDC Budget Template. Eligible investment categories are communication materials, extension activities and demonstration trials, with a maximum project duration of 40 months and an indicative budget cap of $300,000 GST ex. Out‑of‑scope items include digital tools requiring ongoing support, proof‑of‑concept projects, research without a clear extension path, product comparison studies, off‑label agrichemical use, and duplication of existing R&D.

All activities must meet the mandatory conditions for participation, including compliance with relevant Australian labour and anti‑slavery legislation, and must not involve entities subject to sanctions or with unresolved employee entitlement claims.
