Furniture (incl. office furniture), furnishings, domestic appliances (excl. lighting) and cleaning productsDeadline:
27 Oct 2026AI Summary
The procurement concerns the supply of comprehensive kitchen equipment and textiles for municipal use. Under a framework agreement in 2026 Ålesund municipality will acquire a range that includes cutlery, plates, glasses, cups, pans and other kitchen utensils. The agreement is divided into two distinct lots: Lot 1 provides a kitchen textile package for refugee residences in Ålesund, while Lot 2 extends the supply of kitchen textiles to municipal buildings, institutions, nurseries and schools across Ålesund, Giske, Sande, Sula, and Ulstein, with additional deliveries to Muritunet and the Ålesund kommune administration building AS. All items are to be delivered within the specified municipalities and to the identified sites.
The contract places a strong emphasis on environmental performance. The procurement requires the use of zero‑emission vehicles for all deliveries, limits plastic usage and mandates BPA‑free plastics where unavoidable. Vehicles and logistics must minimise delivery frequency and transport load. Suppliers must possess qualified environmental management systems and prohibit the inclusion of PVC, PFAS, or any substance on the EU candidate list in excess of 0.1 % by weight. Textiles must meet the OEKO‑TEX Standard 100 or an equivalent certification to ensure they are free of harmful or allergy‑inducing chemicals. Packaging is required to adhere to a formal recycling scheme.
All purchased items shall comply with the specified environmental regulations, including the use of zero‑emission vehicles, restriction of plastics and hazardous substances, and OEKO‑TEX Standard 100 accreditation for textiles.

Description
Framework agreement for kitchen clothes (cutlery, all kitchen equipment, plates, glasses, cups, pans, various plates etc.). Procurement with two parts: 1. Lot 1 - kitchen textile package for refugee residences, 2. Lot 2 - kitchen textiles for municipal buildings and institutions, nurseries and schools.
Additional information: Exceptions The contracting authority has replaced award criteria for the environment with climate and environmental requirements in the requirement specifications, cf. the Public Procurement Regulations § 5b second paragraph. It is considered that this gives a better climate and environmental effect, and this is justified below. The assessment is based on a market dialogue and market surveys that show that the market is largely mature for the relevant environmental measures. The contracting authority has identified concrete measures that are expected to give greater climate and environmental effect if they are set as mandatory requirements, rather than entering into a competition for points. By setting requirements, it is ensured that all the tenderers awarded the contract fulfil the environmental requirements that are deemed significant for the procurement. If the measures were only used as award criteria, there would be a risk that tenders with low or no environmental gains could still win the competition on the basis of price or other conditions. There are, therefore, requirements on: use of zero emission vehicles when delivering goods, • As little use as possible of plastic products and where necessary, BPA free plastic is required where plastic is necessary and the product is suitable for food contact, • minimum order in order to reduce the number of deliveries and transport load. • requirements for relevant environmental management systems such as qualification requirements, • Products containing PVC and PFAS, or more than 0.1 percent weight of substances that are on the EU candidate list (substances with particularly serious health and environmentally hazardous qualities) shall not be delivered or used. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 or equivalent are required for textiles (Dl area 2): Ensures that the textiles in the kitchen do not contain allergy inducing or harmful chemicals. • Recycling scheme for packaging • The contracting authority estimates that these requirements together give a clearer and more secure climate and environmental effect than the use of climate and environment as the award criteria.
Place of performance: Lot 1 only applies to Ålesund municipality. Lot 2 concerns Ålesund, Giske, Sande, Sula, Ulstein municipalities. Other participants: Muritunet, Ålesund kommune administration building AS
