Workplace practices and practical resources for the prevention of work-related cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), return-to-work (RTW) of workers after a CVD event, and retention at work (RAT) of workers with chronic CVDs (2 Lots)
The tender seeks to advance an OSH overview that addresses the prevention of workârelated cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), the facilitation of returnâtoâwork for employees after a CVD event, and the retention of workers living with chronic CVDs. The contracting authority, the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EUâOSHA), intends to bridge the established evidenceâpractice gap by commissioning research that investigates occupational risk factors, identifies highârisk sectors and worker groups, and evaluates the burden and underlying causes of workârelated CVDs across the EU. It further aims to catalogue and assess policies, programmes and workplace interventions that can mitigate these risks or support affected employees throughout their employment trajectory.
To this end, two distinct lots are proposed. LotâŻ1 calls for fieldâbased case study research that documents and analyses workplace practices related to CVD prevention, returnâtoâwork, and retention for workers after or with chronic CVDs, while LotâŻ2 requires a structured compilation and assessment of practical resources for workplace actors to implement similar interventions. Both lots require comprehensive data collection through literature reviews, case studies, interviews, focus groups, workshops and seminars, culminating in evidenceâbased recommendations for policy makers, researchers and companies. All deliverables must adhere to EUâOSHA evidenceâbased guidelines and ISOâŻ45001 occupational health standards.

10 Sept 2026Pre-commercial Procurement of an innovative Systemic Sustainability Transition Solution for Health Care Organisations (suHCO)
The procurement concerns the preâcommercial acquisition of research and development services to create an innovative, systemic sustainability transition solution for health care organisations, known as suHCO. The objective is to design, prototype and validate an AIâenabled digital platform that empowers healthcare providers in Spain, Italy and Wales to evaluate their environmental performance, pinpoint improvement opportunities, and orchestrate change management initiatives. The solution must incorporate sustainability knowledge, regulatory requirements, international standards, best practices and relevant data sources, offering users tailored guidance suited to each organisationâs operational context. It is intended to support sustainable procurement, impact assessment, reporting activities and the broader organisational transition toward more environmentally responsible models, thereby aligning with European health systemsâ sustainability goals.
The development process will be carried out in a phased, competitive manner, with suppliers awarded parallel R&D contracts that span solution design, prototype development and the original creation and validation of lowâvolume products or services. After each phase, interim evaluations will select the highestâperforming proposals, allowing the most promising developers to secure subsequent contracts. The resulting intellectual property will belong to the contractors, enabling them to pursue market exploitation beyond the scope of this procurement. Development activities are primarily required to take place within the European Union or associated countries, with no services performed by entities subject to EU restrictive measures.
The platform must be tested and validated in real healthcare settings across Catalonia, West Wales and Treviso, ensuring relevance, usability and scalability. At least 50âŻ% of the total R&D activities shall be carried out inside the EU or countries associated with the Horizon Europe Programme.
