Combined Waste Management

Nottingham Community Housing Association Ltd. is commissioning a contract for ad‑hoc waste management services designed to complement and enhance existing local authority provisions across its operational footprint. The service must be highly responsive and adaptable, providing urgent and unplanned waste collection, disposal, and clearance work wherever it is required. The appointment is for providers that can cover all sites linked to the association—including its head office, satellite offices, temporary locations created for repairs or voids, and any other premises within the East Midlands covering Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, and Rutland.

The procurement involves sophisticated handling of a broad array of waste streams. Providers will collect and segregate general office waste, mixed dry recycling, confidential and food waste, sanitary and non‑hazardous clinical waste, as well as electronic waste, batteries, small hazardous items, and bulky office furniture. Maintenance‑related waste, such as construction debris, wood, metal, plasterboard, inert material, glass, painted surfaces, gas canisters and white‑goods electrical waste, must also be managed. The contract extends from the association’s headquarters to all satellite and temporary works sites, requiring continuous coverage, the capacity for complex clearance tasks, and the provision of specialized services for hazardous material handling.

All offerings must adhere to UK statutory waste management regulations and relevant health and safety standards.

NCHA is seeking to appoint providers to deliver ad-hoc waste management services to supplement existing local authority provisions where they are not adequate to meet operational needs.
The requirement is for a responsive, flexible service capable of addressing a wide range of waste-related issues in both residential properties and surrounding environments. This includes urgent and unplanned works as well as more complex clearance tasks.
The scope of this contract covers the provision of ad hoc waste management services across the full geographical area served by NCHA
The value entered at this stage is not reflective of the anticipated contract value, as the Conditions of Participation (PSQ) stage is being used solely to assess supplier suitability and shortlist suppliers for invitation to tender. No commitment to expenditure is made at this stage. The contract value will be confirmed and published as part of the subsequent tender stage.
