Fresh Sandwiches

Business Services Organisation (BSO) in partnership with the Procurement and Logistics Service (PaLS) has issued a tender to appoint one or more suppliers for the supply and delivery of fresh sandwiches across the six Health and Social Care Trusts of Northern Ireland – Belfast, Northern, South Eastern, Southern, Western and the Central Trusts. The contract will cover the procurement and timely delivery of ready‑to‑eat sandwiches that meet the hygiene and safety standards required for distribution within healthcare settings. The successful contractor will provide a consistent supply chain, ensuring that all sandwiches are fresh, appropriately packaged, and delivered according to the contractual timetable agreed with each Trust.

The tender is divided into five separate lots covering the distinct geographical areas of each Trust. Each lot includes an estimated value and allows for renewal through options whose total extension period will not exceed 24 months. The Buyer requires a signed notice at least three months prior to expiration should any option be exercised. This structure enables the procurement of fresh sandwiches at scale, ensuring that all Health and Social Care Trusts receive reliable, high‑quality meals to support patient and staff wellbeing, while allowing flexibility for contract continuity or adjustment.

All deliveries must be made in compliance with the applicable food safety, handling, and packaging standards for fresh food distribution to healthcare facilities.
