Mobile Diagnostic and Treatment Units Dynamic Purchasing System

The Dynamic Purchasing System is established to procure mobile diagnostic and/or treatment units for use by NHS and other public sector organisations across the United Kingdom. These units, typically delivered as vans or temporary cabin structures, are intended to increase capacity, reduce waiting lists and alleviate clinical pressure by providing diagnostic or therapeutic services in hospital sites or closer to patients’ homes such as GP practices or community locations. The system is structured into three distinct lots, allowing suppliers to offer either hire or lease arrangements, outright purchase, or hire with an inclusive managed service that covers consumables and staffing where required.

Lot 1 focuses on providing fully equipped units on a hire or lease basis, while Lot 2 invites suppliers to deliver these units through purchase. Lot 3 expands the offer by including a managed service component, ensuring ongoing provision of consumables and personnel as necessary. All offers must meet the requirements outlined in the DPS Outline Specification, with variants accepted and contracts subject to renewal. Units must adhere to the DPS Outline Specification and meet all applicable NHS technical and safety standards.

This DPS will offer mobile diagnostic and/or treatment units to healthcare and/or other organisations in the UK public sector. These units within the NHS would increase capacity within organisations to help facilitate the delivery of the elective programme and to help with waiting lists, patient backlogs and lack of staff availability/space. Suppliers would work closely with healthcare organisations to deliver easily accessible treatments or diagnostics, either on hospital sites or closer to patients homes in more remote areas (for example at supermarkets, GP practices etc.). By working with healthcare organisations, suppliers will relieve pressure on services by improving access to treatments and bed space, reducing patient waiting times and freeing up clinical capacity. Units are usually provided in the form of vans or non-permanent units/cabins.
The DPS will be in three Lots:
Lot 1 - Hire or Lease of Mobile Diagnostic and/or Treatment Unit(s)
Lot 2 - Purchase of Mobile Diagnostic and/or Treatment Unit(s)
Lot 3 - Mobile Diagnostic and/or Treatment Unit(s) as a Managed Service
Applications may be made to one or more Lots.
